Defensive Driving Training (DDT)

Learning aim: 

The defensive driving training course gives drivers knowledge and skills necessary to drive their vehicles safely and defensively on the road.

Theory outline:

Participants will be able to acquire core knowledge of

• Six adverse conditions that lead to accidents

• Safe driving attitudes including conjunction, slop, curing and breaking/stopping

• Practicing 6 seconds and 15 seconds

• Safe speed and distance with application of rule of 2 and 4 second and overtaking skills

• Practicing safe distance and use of mirrors in every 5-8 seconds and

• Six position of vehicles crash and seat belts

• Update Vietnamese road traffic regulations

Practical session outline:

Participants will practise the following exercises  

• Zigzag driving

• Time and distance reaction

• Emergency brake techniques

• Defensive driving rules on wet surface (skidding on a wet surface)

• National road defensive skills assessment
